Associate Director of the Centre for Community Child Health, Sue West, presenting at CoLab briefing
Developing integrated services that suit the circumstances, conditions and needs of families in their community is one of CoLab’s priorities.
We recently hosted Sue West from the Centre for Community Child Health (CCCH), The Royal Children’s Hospital who presented the highlights of a roundtable held earlier in the year in Melbourne on emerging patterns in place-based approaches.
CoLab Co-Director – Policy David Ansell thanked Sue for providing the latest international thinking on place-based approaches for improving development and learning of children. You can read the slides here.
A CCCH report summarising the Melbourne presentations and discussions is now available. It discusses the need to invest in place-based approaches — local solutions to local problems — as a strategy that shows promise for improving outcomes for children in disadvantaged locations.
